Dénes Jobbágy

Chair and CEO

Dénes Jobbágy

He graduated from the Budapest University of Technology as an electrical engineer and become a specialised IT engineer after a post-graduate course.

He started his career as a software developer at the Videoton Development Institute, by the 90’s, he had already become a CEO at Hungaro DigiTel, then a deputy CEO at Matáv, and finally a founding CEO at Novacom (RWE is the majority shareholder). He was a consultant between 2002 and 2010, later taking a director’s position at the MFB and becoming the chair and CEO of the IT Venture Capital management board belonging to the banking group. He was an executive consultant at the Magyar Export-Import Bank Zrt. for four years from 2015. He has been on the board of the Széchenyi Funds since 2017, and chair and CEO thereof since 2019.

Tamás Hajnal

He graduated from the University of Debrecen with a degree in economics in 2000, and then from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University with a law degree in 2007. At the beginning of his career, after a traineeship at Raiffeisen Bank, he was in charge of financing dozens of acquisitions and worked on several M&A transactional advisory assignments on both the buy-side and sell-side in CIB Bank’s Investment Banking Business Unit for 8 years. After this period of time, he was the Regional Head of CIB Bank’s SME Credit Approval in Southwest Hungary for two years. He continued his work in the restructuring and pre-workout area of real estate projects at MKB Bank, before moving to the capital side at MFB to the Group’s IT Venture Capital Fund Manager, where he served as an Investment Director. He worked in the equity investment business of MFB Invest Zrt. and in 2017 he became Investment Director of Hiventures’ Seed and a member of the Seed Investment Committee, leading his team to complete over 50 investments while exploring thousands of investment opportunities. Today, he supports the President and CEO of the Széchenyi Funds as the CEO’s advisor. Overall, he has 20 years of transaction experience in debt and equity corporate finance for SMEs and large corporates, having served on the FB and IG of dozens of companies. Currently he is a member of the Board of Directors of the newly listed DM-Ker Nyrt. and the Supervisory Board of Gloster Nyrt. He also is a mentor of the Founder Institute, the world’s largest pre-seed start-up accelerator.

Attila Gayer

Attila Gayer

He is a true team player at work. He likes complex transactions and professional challenges. He believes that continuous learning is essential in this sector. He considers passion and determination to be key elements in business success. He has been working in the venture capital business since 2013, and prior to joining Széchenyi Funds, he worked at Solus Capital, Hiventures and Tőkepartner Kockázati Tőkealap-kezelő Zrt. He holds a degree in economics and a CFA. To date, he has been involved in more than 50 venture capital and private equity transactions.

János Kővágó

Investment Director

János Kővágó

He has a 25-year investment banking background and has acted as lead advisor on a number of public and private corporate finance transactions (IPOs and M&A advisory projects). He has extensive experience and has closed several international transactions in the following fields: automation companies, software, Medtech and “BPO/outsourced services”. He has also worked for major international companies such as Daiwa Securities, ING Barings, Nomura Securities, Citibank, Egis Pharmaceuticals and Grant Thornton over the past decade.

Tamás Molontay

Tamás Molontay

He is responsible for growth capital and buy-out (MBO/MBI) transactions without industry constraints and is a member of the Investment Committee of the National Fund for Stock Exchange Development. He has 20 years of banking experience as a specialist and senior executive with Volksbank (Head of Treasury), ING (Head of Corporate Business, Deputy CEO), Crédit Agricole (CEO) and Citi (Head of International Business). His corporate background is also notable, having held the position Manager of the President and CEO’s Business Office at MVM Group and Director of European Business Development at BARE International (a US-owned customer experience research company). He has also gained consulting experience at IT Venture Capital Fund Management Ltd (MFB Group) and currently at Széchenyi Funds. Previously, he was a member of the board of MVM NET and a member of the supervisory board of the Smart Future Lab incubator. Education: Economist (Budapest University of Economics), Master of Finance and Business (University of Essex).

András Schuster

András Schuster

In his opinion the most important thing in any investment transaction is the people, the management and staff –they are the real key to success. Investing is easy, but investing well is hard, and exiting successfully is extremely difficult, for which he considers ongoing, active portfolio management to be essential.

He graduated in Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2011. After a brief stint in commercial banking (treasury, controlling), he joined Széchenyi Funds in 2012 and has since then been working in venture capital, where he started his career as a junior investment analyst and learned the trade. As an Investment Manager at the fund, he has prepared around 20 transactions, and since 2019, as Director of Investments, he has led additional transactions. He is proud to have several successful exits to his name.

Petra Birkás

Director of Regulations

Petra Birkás

She has been the head of the regulatory area since February 2021. She joined the Széchenyi Funds in 2019 as a risk manager after 9 years at the Ministry of Finance, where she worked as a statistician in the budgetary area and then as a wealth management analyst on state-owned enterprises and priority projects. Prior to that, she was a client advisor, tender writer and project manager at a financial company of the Regional Development Holding. She graduated from the College of Finance and Accounting in 2005 with a degree in Business Informatics and in 2011 with a degree in economics (corporate finance). In 2018 she completed a Master’s in International Sports Manager at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Enikő Pintér Kovács

Director of Risk Management

Enikő Pintér-Kovács

She holds a degree in economics from the Budapest University of Economics and Business Administration and is a certified auditor (financial institution qualification) and tax consultant. She is constantly expanding her professional knowledge in the field of finance and accounting. Prior to joining the Fund Management Company, her experience was mainly in the field of bank lending and the management and supervision of financial undertakings, investment transactions, asset management, financial management of EU and nationally funded projects, she has financial expertise in tenders. She was the Director of Investment and Asset Management of KRF Zrt. and a member of the Board of Directors of Régió Finansz Zrt. She joined the Fund Manager in 2012 as Senior Investment Manager and has been leading the risk management area since 2017.
